ITSMF International are profoundly saddened and disappointed by the totally unprovoked and illegal Russian invasion into Ukraine a few days ago. We extend our concern, thoughts, and prayers for the safety of all Ukrainians who are affected by this enemy invasion and to all our ITSM members and their families in these affected regions. We sincerely hope and trust that a peaceful negotiated resolution can be achieved as a matter of utmost urgency. To our ITSMF members, Chapters, vendors and sponsors we ask that you consider how you might assist with the support and relocation of any members and their families adversely affected .
If you feel that you wish to support any charitable organisation working in the area, here are some suggestions:
- The United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees has set up a donations page to help those displaced.
- The Ukraine Humanitarian Fund is one of the UN’s country-based pooled funds. Contributions are collected into a single, unearmarked fund and managed locally under UN leadership. As crises evolve, funds are made immediately available to a wide range of partner organizations at the front lines of response.
- The International Committee of the Red Cross is helping the Ukrainian Red Cross assist people who were affected by the conflict there. ICRC water engineers and doctors aim to help more than 3 million people access clean water and improve the living conditions.
- Save the Children – Ukraine Crisis Fund will use donations to help families meet their basic needs such as food, medicine and shelter and help Ukrainian children get access to education and psychosocial support.
